LAMDA Examinations in Singapore, an Introduction

LAMDA examinations are now available in Singapore, with Academy IG.

LAMDA examination sessions in Singapore take place twice a year, in June and November.   Students from Academy IG of all ages may participate locally in these internationally recognised, graded examinations.

Academy IG gives small group coaching towards these examinations in Singapore from Grade 1 to 8.

What is LAMDA?

The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) is one of the oldest drama schools in the United Kingdom.  Founded in 1861, it quickly established itself as a centre of excellence in performance training.

“LAMDA Examinations” is the body that organises and supervises the examinations.

Why might it be interesting to take LAMDA examinations?

LAMDA began offering speech examinations to the public in the 1880s.  Since then, these examinations have been refined and developed into a comprehensive system of performance evaluation by experts in education, acting and communication. In addition to being the UK’s largest statutory speech and drama awarding body, LAMDA Examinations have a reputation for excellence across the globe.

LAMDA exams are invaluable for all students involved in presentation, public speaking, people of all ages who communicate in business and indeed anyone

in the public eye.

LAMDA Examinations currently offer Graded examinations in the following subjects:

Communication

Spoken English – Speech & Conversation (solo)

Public Speaking – Prepared & Impromptu Speech (solo)

Examinations take place twice a year during June/July and November/December period

LAMDA exam venue is at Academy IG, 273 Thomson Road, #03-01 Novena Gardens. Take Life B to the third level. (Next to IRAS)
