Senior Trainer – Joyce Carter

Joyce Carter has been a Regional Trainer for two well-know International Banks for the last 10 years. She has recently decided to move into specializing in Public Speaking for children bringing years of corporate experience into the classroom. Being a mother herself, and working with kids has allowed Joyce to combine both her passion for teaching and helping kids to grow and develop in confidence. Her highly successful career in the banking industry was partly attributed to her ability to communicate confidently to people from many different countries. She believes strongly that success in the corporate world can only be achieved if one is able to covey verbal messages accurately, fluently and visually.

“My experiences with Public Speaking started from Primary School all the way to Junior College. Although I started out my career in Banking, I was able to combine my love for speaking and move into a Regional Training role within the bank. Now I get to work with kids and inspire them to grow in confidence and tackle what some consider their greatest fear – Public Speaking.”

Besides delivering courses, Joyce had to develop Trainers globally within the Bank and work on Train the Trainer workshops to help Adults in Public Speaking. During the past 10 years, Joyce has trained students from Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Africa, Philippines, Japan and Pakistan, just to name a few.

Joyce has completed the Foundation, Intermediate and Advance Level in Communication Skills conducted by Mary Ann Tear, International Trainer and Examiner for Trinity College London. At Academy IG, Joyce conducts Oral Communication classes to prepare students for the Trinity Guildhall Certification in Oral Communication Grade 1- 8. She also prepares students for DSA and PSLE Oral Examination.

Joyce is also currently lecturing part time at the Singapore Polytechnic in the areas of Banking and Finance.
